I'm surprisingly inspired today. Yup, at almost 10:00 at night. I have to go to bed soon so I won't be exhausted for school tomorrow, but I'm determined to get enough fic out that I'll actually feel like sleeping. I'm on an Avatar: the Last Airbender writing spree. The latest of which is a what if fic. The idea behind it is, "What if Lu Ten hadn't died at Ba Sing Se? What if he had been caught and brainwashed by the Dai Le? How would it have reflected itself in the adventures of our heros (and antiheros)." Right now it's set to be an actual fic, but I'm not sure if I should just break it down into a drabble series...It's coming out in random scene chunks anyway...I'll decide later, I guess.

House of Anubis Review

So while I was babysitting my neighbor's kids, they had me watch a marathon of a new Nick show: House of Anubis. The show follows eight teenagers living in Anubis House and going to an English boarding school. While there, the new student, Nina Martin stumbles across a mystery that somehow involves a popular student that has just left school under mysterious circumstances. Along the way, they uncover a conspiracy involving the teachers at their school, all while dealing with school, relationships and other teenage problems.

Unfortunately the acting and writing...Collapse )

So I've been having a great time during midterms. Other than the few stressful days of studying for my harder classes, I've had a ball. Half days galore and two snow days in between! I've been using all my free time to write. I have to give a shout out to atla500 community. Seriously with the biweekly prompting challenge, I've really been branching out. It's been fun.

Writer's Block: The name game

What's the origin of your username? If you could change it to anything else, would you, and what would it be?

My username came from watching AFV. Seriously. Have you ever seen the safari videos with the animals that steal from people in cars? I was watching that while I was making my account. My brother liked to say that he thought I did the same thing with the food he brought back from when he was on the road coming home from college. And there it was: the username was born.

So I know I was talking about having my next post be a series of ten small one-shots (like two sentences) on a prompt. What actually happened was that my response to the prompts wound up being longer than expected, so I'm going to go ahead and post the five I have right now. Enjoy

Title: Sketches

Prompt Me

So I've been on a role. A few days ago a RL friend of mine gave me an Avatar prompt. Her's was "tradition". And apparently dorkle_07 was right! All it takes in one prompt and now I'm on a role. "Tradition" turned out to be a really short piece. Seriously, it's like two sentences. But I liked it so much that I actually got two more prompt words done. They were "Castle" and "Gaming" and they were only a little longer than "Tradition". It's more writing than I've done in a while though, so I'm happy. Still, since all three are so short I was thinking about putting in seven more before I post it.

A while back, I finished two pieces that I posted here on LJ together. They're both A:tLA short pieces, both Zuko-centric.

Float: "Because it was never only his punishment"

Fathers: "Uncle Iroh will never be his father"

If you want to provide prompts, just reply. One word is fine.

So I realized the other day that I never bothered to introduce myself to you guys. For those of you don't know me too well, I'm stealingemus. I'm a girl for those of you who haven't figured it out, and I like to write. For those of you on fanfiction.net, you might already know me. My pen name on that site is Atolia. So if you know me over there, friend my journal (if your name is different here, let me know who you are). So I'm a longtime fic fan and writer. I have a few prefered fandoms but I can pretty much do short fics for any fandom. So if you have a request, let me know, and I'll see what I can do.

Here are my prefered fandoms:
1. Avatar: the Last Airbender: Seriously. This is like my favorite fandom.
2. Harry Potter: My first fandom.
3. Naruto: I hate all the fillers in this show, but the episodes that are good are GREAT

Short list. But I also do other fandoms occasionally. Especially Supernatural. I've seen a lot of shows, so if you have a request, you can ask. So see you around LJ.

Tips for Surviving the New Year

So it's a new year, and everyone is trying to make changes. To help you guys out i thought I put up my tips for surviving the New Year to help you guys make it the best one ever!

!. SMILE! I know this seems stupid, but it really does help. Life is rough, no doubt, but sometimes all it takes is a smile to make you feel better. And even if it doesn't, maybe you'll make someone else's day.

2. Keep your resolutions. If you made them, nothing can lift your mood like success. Write you list of resolutions down, and write out HOW you're going to accomplish your goals. Reward yourself for taking small steps towards a big resolution. Ask your friends to help you out.

3. Don't take on too many responsibilities. I know that everyone wants to make changes in the New Year, but be aware that you only have a limited amount of time. Nothing cramps your style like stress!

4. Make time for fun. Seriously. I'm not kidding. Go out, hang with friends. You can't be all business all the time.

So there they are. Four tips to make this year better. :) Hope you all have a great one!

Holiday Seasons

So it's that time of year! Presents, family time, vacation and time for New Years resolutions. The great thing is that I just got a new computer! My first laptop. Nothing inspires writing like a new notebook, or in my case, a new Macbook! So what did you guys get for the holidays? What did you give? Remember that it's almost time for New Years. Time to make those resolutions. One of mine would be to keep writing! Happy Holidays! Here's a picture to get yourself in the mood:
